The Oil Pan is a component of the engine that holds the engine oil. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and is bolted to the bottom of the engine block. The Oil Pan has an opening at the bottom where a drain plug can be installed for oil changes. The pan also contains an oil pickup tube which draws oil from the bottom of the pan and sends it to the engine's oil pump. In addition, most Oil Pans have baffles inside to prevent sloshing and ensure that there is always a supply of oil available to lubricate the engine's moving parts.
