      The Flywheel Housing, also known as the bell housing, is a component that connects the engine and transmission. It is typically made of cast iron or aluminum and bolts onto the back of the engine block. The flywheel housing contains a hole for the input shaft of the transmission to pass through and aligns with the clutch assembly. Its main function is to protect and enclose both the flywheel and clutch assembly while providing a stable mounting point for both components.
